January 5th - Friyayy

Today Mr. P told us that the deadline to register for the Solo and Ensemble Contest is today, Friday, at midnight.
I still wasn't really sure if I wanted to stand on a stage and sing in front of some strangers. But Mr. P explained the procedure today. Basically, you walk in the room, sing your piece in front of a judge with an accompaniment and then you're done. That didn't sound that bad, to be honest. And singing in front of 1 judge is still better than singing in front of a whole choir class.
So I decided to register myself today. I will sing the piece "To the sky." It doesn't sound that difficult in the sample Mr. Parrot shared on Google Classroom. I'm going to print it soon and write in all the solfege and then I will practice. A lot.
That's it. Now we have two days off again thanks to the weekend :)

January 4th - Why is it always the second day??

And there goes the second day of school after the winter break. It is always the second day of school. Every time I wonder how fast I got used to going back to school after the first day. But almost every time i'm also super tired after the second day that i just want to fall into bed the second i enter the door to the apartment. Besides a normal tiring school day nothing else really happened.
But hey! It's Thursday already, that means one more day and we have weekend again! :)

January 3rd - Back to school!

Today was the first day of school after winter break and I'm already exhausted again. Sometimes a two-week break just makes it harder to go back to school again I guess...
I had planned on starting my solo for "Solo and Ensemble". (Or at least print out the music so I can start off with the solfege). Well, I guess I have to start it now then. I still have time left because Mr. P announced today that the "Solo and Ensemble" competition is the 24th of February. If we want to go there we have to sign up online on Google Classroom by filling out a form. I am really nervous about that and am not really sure if I want to sing in front of a judge. I mean I love to sing, that's why I joined the choir in 5th grade. But when I have to present something in class or be on a stage my voice just starts cracking and you can hear the nervosity. So how am I supposed to do this without freaking out?! In front of a stranger who is judging my performance?!
Yeah well, I don't know yet.
I may have to sleep over that decision.

January 2nd - Simply nothing,

The title pretty much sums it up.
The next day, the school would start again and didn't really do anything for school. I mean yes I did some review etc. but not as much as I had originally planned to.
I try to use the daily planner I bought back at home before I came here but I can't write anything in there if nothing happens. 
That's basically it.
A least I don't remember anything else.

January 1st - The other half of the new year's party

After a quick hugging and celebrating together with my host parents L and G, my host sister A and three of my good friends C, G, and L, we decided to go outside and light some rockets and fireworks but the incoming cold front made it impossible. L and G didn't really have the right jackets for the weather and the wind was just too cold. So we went back inside and sat on the couch together, talking and enjoying to spend some time together. Unfortunately, G and L live about 40 minutes away which doesn't really often give us a chance to meet them.

At around 2am we started getting ready for bed. Because we only have 2 beds in our room we set them up for L and G. C and A slept next to each other with two blankets on the carpet and I slept across of them at the door on the carpet, also with two blankets.It was like a huge sleepover party and I totally wasn't used to this. It was great and I'm looking forward to doing that some other time again :)

P.s.: Oh yeah btw. we watched the of the "Pitch perfect" movies the 31st of December just so we were able to see the third one in the movie theatre like 4 hours afterward. Never did that before, 3 movies in a row xD 

New Year, new goals - Or why i'm actually trying too keep my new year's resoluion

Yes, I know it's late but my new year's resolution sort of was to keep this blog alive and actually, daily report what happened. So this is it. Currently, we have the 21st of January, yes for me it still feels like the 20th because I post this at midnight. Beginning today, I will make up the entries of all the 20 days of January I missed already. Yes, I really am going to do this. I promised myself to post here daily to create a reading adventure for everyone (including me), who is going to read this someday.😌
